A very comfortable and durable chainsaw — the most powerful series-production chainsaw in the world. A lively saw with truly high cutting performance. For professional use in the toughest conditions.

Primarily intended for LOGOSOL chainsaw mills, but also for felling and cross-cutting very thick and hard-wood trees.

The saw has an adjustable oil pump and practical solutions such as a stainless-steel muffler, a long-life cyclone pre-separation air filter system and a quick-release HD2 air filter, quick-release engine covers, cover-fastening nuts attached to the chain cover, and a 2-MIX engine.

Compared with the previous MS880 model, the MS881 with a 2-MIX engine has up to 20% lower fuel consumption and up to 50% lower exhaust emissions.

Comfort is added by the patented STIHL anti-vibration system, a decompression valve for easier starting, an ElastoStart starter to reduce kickback when starting, and quick-release tank caps.

Suitable are 3002-mount guide bars 404 1.6 mm and saw chains 404 RM, RS, RMX 1.6 mm (saw chains are made from chain reels). Guide bars up to 150 cm can be used.

HD2 Air filter

A tool-free interchangeable/removable and easy-to-clean air filter suitable for all conditions (warm, cold, dry, damp). Thanks to its special material, it repels water and oil.

STIHL 2-MIX®

Why choose STIHL 2-MIX engines? Using the unique 4-channel technology developed by STIHL, a cushion of fresh air is created between the combustion residues and the fresh fuel. This reduces the amount of fuel that ends up among the combustion residues, thereby reducing fuel consumption. This also produces fewer exhaust gases and the engine operation is kinder to nature. STIHL 2-MIX® technology has up to 20% lower fuel consumption and up to 70% lower exhaust emissions compared with STIHL two-stroke engines of the same power class without 2-MIX technology.
