Guide bars

Depending on the chainsaw model, a suitable guide bar must also be selected for it.

When choosing a guide bar, make sure that the bar has a mount matching the saw's brand, that the guide bar length does not exceed the maximum length permitted by the manufacturer, and that the guide bar parameters (chain pitch, guide bar groove width and guide bar length) suit the chains being used.

Check your saw manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you select the correct dimensions. A guide bar that is too long can make the saw heavy and less manoeuvrable, while a bar that is too short may not provide enough cutting reach.
