Saw chains with different tooth types are available as accessories for the MS 162 C-BE chainsaw: saw chain 3/8P PS3 1.3 mm 44 drive links and saw chain 3/8 PD3 1.3 mm 44 drive links. Chain oil for lubricating the saw chain and guide bar: FORESTPLUS and BIOPLUS, and two-stroke engine oil: HP Super or HP ULTRA. A maintenance kit, MS162/172 Kit 18, is available for servicing, and is easy to use to ensure a longer service life for the machine. See related products!

Using the unique 4-channel technology developed by STIHL, a cushion of fresh air is created between the combustion residues and the fresh fuel. This reduces the amount of fuel that ends up among the combustion residues, thereby reducing fuel consumption. This also produces fewer exhaust gases and the engine operation is kinder to nature. The carburettor control system keeps engine performance, exhaust emission quality and fuel consumption almost constant over a long period, despite increasing air filter contamination.
