A new, powerful cordless chainsaw from STIHL

The new MSA 220 C-B is the most powerful cordless chainsaw in STIHL's range. Thanks to the high chain speed, work progresses faster than ever before, and a consistently high cutting performance is guaranteed regardless of the battery's charge state. This cordless saw is best suited for forestry-maintenance work and construction. As standard it has STIHL's full-chisel saw chain 3/8’’ Picco Super 3 (PS3) with a 35 cm guide bar. The cut is powerful and produces almost no kickback, and the wide kerf also makes working with a felling wedge easier. The energy needed to run the cordless saw is provided by the new PRO-series 36 V lithium-ion battery. We recommend using the new STIHL AP 300 S battery, which not only gives the MSA 220 C-B its endurance but is also compatible with all other STIHL devices belonging to this battery system. The MSA 220 C-B is not afraid of rain or moisture, and because there are no exhaust fumes, sawing work can also be done in enclosed spaces.

• Powerful and with high chain speed

The STIHL MSA 220 C-B has an incredible chain speed of 24 m/s, equivalent to a petrol chainsaw. The saw starts at the push of a button, accelerates instantly and runs at full power regardless of the battery's state of charge. The motor runs with above-average efficiency and almost no wear. In addition, the new STIHL AP 300 S battery has 25% more energy content than the AP 300 battery, allowing up to 45 minutes of work on a single charge.

• Full-chisel saw chain with an aggressive cut

The MSA 220 C-B comes with a full-chisel saw chain as standard – the STIHL 3/8″ Picco Super 3, a saw chain with a powerful cut and minimal vibration and kickback, delivering excellent cutting quality. Its exceptionally high cutting performance increases energy efficiency. This results in up to 30% more cuts per battery charge compared with the corresponding semi-chisel chain.

• Ergonomic and comfortable

The new cordless saw also shines in terms of working comfort. Felling and alignment guide lines on the saw housing allow precise felling. Thanks to the compact design and the soft rubber-coated handle, the machine sits pleasantly and securely in the hand. Comfort is added by the quick chain tensioning, which lets you tension the chain further without tools, and the partly transparent oil tank, where the user can always keep an eye on the fill level.

• Battery module with the system

The new 36 V lithium-ion battery AP 300 S is compatible with all STIHL PRO battery-system devices. In addition to this new saw, this includes more than 20 additional devices for various applications, as well as batteries with a range of energy ratings and chargers.
