The STIHL filing guide with a file holder and 3.2 mm round file is designed for sharpening a saw chain by hand. The guide rests on the chain and holds the file at the correct angle and depth, giving an even sharpening result without separate measuring tools.
The kit suits STIHL 1/4″ P saw chains. The guide controls the filing of the cutting tooth and depth gauge at the same time, so the chain keeps its cutting performance throughout its life.
