The STIHL sharpening vice is a light, portable aid for sharpening a chainsaw chain outside the workshop. The vice's spikes drive firmly into wood and hold the guide bar in place, so the chain can be sharpened right in the forest or at the felling site.
Clamping the guide bar between the two jaws stops it turning during sharpening and gives the tool a stable base. The vice suits the guide bars of STIHL petrol chainsaws.
