The ideal gauge for checking the chainsaw drive sprocket every day. If the wear exceeds 0.5 mm, it starts to wear the bearing surfaces of the chain rivets and the chain may break. If the wear exceeds the permitted limit, we recommend replacing the drive sprocket.
It is simple to use: place the gauge on the teeth of the drive sprocket. If the gauge sits flush with the teeth, the sprocket is in good order. If the gauge sits above the teeth, the sprocket is worn and must be replaced.
