The EGO AURA R2 range of wire-free robot mowers represents a new generation of intelligent, wire-free robotic mowers.

AURA R2 range models can mow up to 1500 m², 3000 m² and 6000 m² in size.

RTK MODULE

An ultra-precise GPS system based on Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) technology.

HOW DOES RTK WORK?

RTK BASE STATION– a stationary RTK base station placed on or right beside the mowing area, sending the mower a corrected GPS signal.

RTK GPS receiver – the robot mower has an RTK GPS receiver that picks up both standard satellite signals and the base station's corrected signals.

Precise navigation – With RTK, the mower achieves centimetre accuracy, allowing the robot mower to travel precisely along planned paths without a physical boundary wire.

Even coverage – Unlike traditional GPS (with an accuracy of around 1–2 metres), RTK ensures a correct mowing result, avoiding leaving any part of the lawn uncut or overlapping.

RGB stereo camera function

The RGB camera captures 3D colour images, which are processed using computer vision and machine-learning algorithms. To distinguish objects, features such as edges, textures, colours and shapes are analysed. Multidimensional vision lets the robot perceive depth as if it had two eyes, while vSLAM lets it determine its position and understand its surroundings as it moves. This way the robot mower can navigate the lawn safely and intelligently and avoid collisions. Thanks to VSLAM, the robot mower knows where it has been and which areas remain unmown.

VIO (Visual-Inertial Odometry)  – Visual Inertial Odometry = visual movement assessment with inertial sensors

VIO is a navigation technology that allows the robot mower to track its position by combining camera-based sensors with motion sensors (IMU – Inertial Measurement Unit).

HOW DOES VIO WORK? :

Camera tracking – the mower uses a small camera to capture images of the ground and surrounding environment.

Motion sensor (IMU) – the mower has accelerometers and a gyroscope that detect movement, including speed, direction and incline.

Combined data– the system combines the information from the camera with the IMU motion data to estimate the mower's position in real time.

Navigation and path planning – based on the data obtained, the mower moves precisely, correcting drift and avoiding obstacles.

• No need for a GPS signal or boundary wire – works both indoors and in places where the GPS signal is weak.
• Better stability– the IMU helps maintain accuracy both under acceleration and on uneven ground.
• Low energy use – uses significantly less battery than RTK and VSLAM.

DOUBLE SAFETY

With AI-powered vision, the Aura R2 avoids obstacles of all kinds (over 3 cm).

With an eight-core processor and a 6-core NPU the device speeds up recognition and response.

It enables the machine to recognise static and moving obstacles and respond to them.

In addition to all the other new types of sensors and cameras, the robot mower is also equipped with a 180° collision sensor located at the front of the mower.

MOWING EFFICIENCY

The robot mower's wide range of cutting heights increases the machine's adaptability, flexibility and user experience.

The cutting-height range is 20-90 mm, adjustable in 5 mm steps.

The 45 W wheel motors deliver 0.14 Nm of torque, which allow the machine to operate on slopes of up to 50%.
Systematic striped mowing patterns not only give the user the desired aesthetics but also ensure complete and even coverage of the mowing area

Changing direction between mowing cycles promotes lawn health and avoids unwanted wheel tracks on the grass.
You have full control over the mowing patterns in all (up to 20) mowing zones.

Aura robot mowers come with a 3-year warranty on the machine and a 2-year warranty on the battery.
