Basis of comparison - models and prices

Each EGO tool is compared with an equivalent petrol model according to the selected usage tier. Prices: saemeister.ee, 12.06.2026.

Prices: saemeister.ee (12.06.2026). Petrol 95: €1.719/l (pistik.net, 10.06.2026). Electricity: €0.18/kWh. Two-stroke engine oil: 1:50 mix. CO2: 2.31 kg/l. Annual price increase applied to running costs: fuel +4%, electricity +4%, servicing +3% per year. Chain oil is included for both battery and petrol chainsaws. Both sides include the cost of consumables (blade, chain, line, sharpening); petrol tools also incur engine servicing (filters, spark plug, components) - typical estimates. Battery lifespan depends on usage load: in the calculation, Home user ~10 yrs, Demanding home user ~8 yrs, Professional ~4 yrs; once the lifespan is reached, all batteries are replaced (at Professional level, 10 Ah batteries, 3 units by default). Each usage volume corresponds to its own power class model selection. Professional-class petrol hedge trimmers are essentially not offered on the Estonian retail market, so the STIHL HS 45 is used for the hedge trimmer petrol comparison.
